WOYWW 354

A quick post this week, I'm in the middle of making some marmalade, Pink Grapefruit. We have so many on the tree I thought I'd better use some, even though I must have pick 5 kilos and given Kilos away there's loads still on the tree,

One side of my room, I've been doing the Scrap Lift challenge, our trip to Salamanca July 2014, as usual I  had everything out and then in the middle of glueing everything in place I suddenly realised I hadn't made an Easter card for our Grandsons, I saw a video showing how to make a slider card but of course I didn't have any stamps or dies used so I had to improvise, in the end I did manage to use some foam bits I've had for quite a few years.

I used the Paperartsy stamps to make a Background,
stuck on a few foam flowers and chick, the Egg is
also foam, I made the sentiment on the computer as I don't possess any Easter stamps apart from the bunny on my desk that I stamped but didn't use in the end.

The other side, I've been busy cutting parts for a baby card that didn't go to plan so now on to plan B, or is that E!!
I wanted to make a start as my plan was to do a name book but it's working our too big bearing in mind it will have to go by post.
Our Son rang last night to say there's a problem so our DIL will be having a C section on April 29th, a week earlier than due date.

You all probably think I'm mad when I still  have six weeks but I'm not one who can rush these things, I'll most likely be on plan Y before I've finished, LOL

Well off to make a mess of the kitchen, until next week, have a good weekend, it's Fathers Day here this weekend so big celebrations, fun fair, giant speakers the size of wardrobes on the seafront, only in Spain!!
We are hoping to catch a glimpse of a Military parade that's on next week, intrigued as it involves a goat????

WOYWW 353

Happy WOYWW, can't believe our Son has been and gone, times flies when you're having fun
We had a great weekend with him, the weather was beautiful and we had quite a few meals out, he managed Chopitos for breakfast two mornings and his Dad cooked Paella for him so he went home very happy.

I had a lovely bouquet of flowers from him for Mothers Day (photo below) plus some Polish chocolate prunes, my favourites.

The photo to the right, the flowers were wrapped in netting so I quickly folded it neatly, father and son thought it was very amusing as they both knew where it was headed, straight to my craft room.

As I haven't been up here since last week there's not too much going on but I have started to get things ready for my next scrap lift challenge over on SCS, thought I might finally do a page on Salamanca, I think its three years ago when we went there so high time I made a start.
You might notice I'm using my smash book, couldn't find a better use for it so it will eventually be given to our Grandsons in San Francisco to remind them of our visits over there and our travels over here, I have bought a second one for Grandson number 3 who is expected on May 6th, not sure where I will find the time to do two but!!!

So that's me for this week, thank you to all of you who took the time to leave lovely comments last week, see you over at Julia's Stamping Ground for snoop around your desks.

Golden Christmas

This is my first time of joining this challenge but I have one Christmas Stencil from Tim Holtz, Festive. I saw the technique in a craft magazine to use embossing paste sprinkled with glitter and as I have far too much glitter I thought I would give it a go.

I also used gold card as a layer with a white base, added some gold ribbon out of my huge stash and stamped the sentiment in gold.

Seasons Greetings

My card for the Jingle Belles challenge to use more than three layers, I love layers so an easy challenge for me.

I used a TH Festive stencil with sage distress Ink for the background layer as it matched the green card and die cut the poinsettia and leaves, the sentiment is from a sheet of foil ones I've had in my stash for a few years.

Another week gone in a flash, at least I have achieved quite a bit, finished regrouting the mosaic although it still needs cleaning, posted a few birthday cards and pleasingly I am actually ahead of schedule with my list, oh yes apart from notebooks I also love making lists, Steve jokes I make a list for my lists which is very true.

My desk this week, lots of things on the go as usual but all unfinished, I saw a challenge to use a stencil, I only have one Christmas stencil so I started by using embossing paste with glitter, put it on one side to dry, but while searching through my stash of card bases that I'm trying to use up I spotted a nice pink one, which of course didn't match the Christmas card piece I'd just started!! so using part of a TH flower stencil, the one on the card front, I think you can just see, I used embossing paste and sprinkled with embossing powder.
Unfortunately the white sparkly embossing powder really didn't show up very well so I was just going to throw it away when I thought I could put a little glue on the top and sprinkle glitter!! looked messy so I started to scrap it off and thought it didn't look too bad with only bits of glitter showing,  not sure the card will ever be sent out but in the process I did manage to use a small piece of ribbon from my huge stash!!

To the right are the free papers from my craft mag on top of the plastic folder with the card parts I'd printed out last week. On the shelf, that needs a tidy are my Distress inks at the back, the tubs are old plastic CD holders, they have my Alcohol Inks and Distress reinkers in and another with glossy and crackle accents.

Getting ready for No 1 sons visit on Friday, arrives at 10am so with an hours drive to the airport it will be an early start then straight to the seafront for his Chopitos (baby squid) which he loves, when I told Blanca to make sure she had some ready she said, oh your son's arriving is he?  He says he has to make the most of being fussed over as the next time we see him he won't stand a chance with the new baby on the scene! Ha,Ha, very true.

Hope to see you over at Julia's place, you're sure to be doing something more interesting, until next week, have a good one
