I thought you might like to see what they tried for their breakfast, we have a lovely restaurant on the beach where we went for breakfast a few times, although Charlie always has his two Weetabix when he first wakes up he still managed to enjoy these.
They are called Pop Dots, small donuts covered in chocolate, not what I call a balanced diet but they were on holiday! Unfortunately it was so hot that they melted pretty quickly, fortunately they didn't last too long!! They soon worked all those calories off with all the swimming they did, so did Nan and Grandad!
Also our favorite coffee, flower of Jamaica. If you look you can see how close to the beach we are, through the reflection in the glass!
Our Paseo, where we walk every day, it's 1Km long and we walk to the far end to the Marina where we have our coffee and then back to have breakfast. It has a lovely sandy beach with restaurants and cafes all along the whole length, in summer its buzzing, you might just be able to see the floating slides, they will disappear in the next week or so as the holidaymakers slowly go home!
We always look forward to September when life gets back to normal and the temperatures start to drop to manageable levels.
Hope you all have a great week.
Jan x

ReplyDeleteLooks like a great place to be. Happy T Day, Valerie
ReplyDeleteIt's SO good to see you back for T this week, Jan. To live in Spain would be a wonderful experience and living near the beach would be magical.
ReplyDeleteThose donuts made me laugh, but of course, I think they went well with your coffee. Never heard of flower of Jamaica coffee, but I'm up for any new experience.
Now that the GS's have gone home, you can relax for a few days and enjoy your coffee in hopefully manageable weather. Thank you so much for joining us from the beach for T this Tuesday, Jan.
i always envy people who live near the sea - what a great feeling! happy t-day!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful place! It must be a joy to be able to walk there :) I'd take the chocolate donuts for breakfast, thank you, knowing it wouldn't be an everyday thing. Happy T Tuesday
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice visit you had with the GSs. The beach is lovely. I bet they really enjoyed that.
ReplyDeleteHappy T-day! Eileen xox
How fun for your grandsons that they get a whole month of holiday with you! I bet that is a fun memory that they will always have. While having company is wonderful, it is always nice to get back into a routine.
ReplyDeletePop dots for breakfast sounds so yummy! Although, they sounds very rich in flavor. I don't know if my delicate stomach could handle that but children seem very resilient to those not so healthy foods. Enjoy the rest of your holiday.
Happy Tea Day,
Kate
How fun Jan!! Growing up i spent ever summer with my grandparents... That times holds some of my favorite childhood memories.. Happy T day and so glad you could join us.. Hugs! deb
ReplyDeleteIt must have been lovely having family stay. You live in a very beautiful area, the beach looks lovely.
ReplyDeleteHappy T day wishes.
Yvonne xx
Yes that's the thing with a seaside home - you have tourists to contend with for several months of the year - my SIL used to live on the coast road for a long time with folk parking on her front! You seem to have plenty of choice of eating places though!Happy T Day! Chrisx
ReplyDeleteIt is nice to meet you Jan. Those chocolate covered pop donuts might be junk but I remember having something similar to your description when I was a kid. They probably taste horrible now but I used to love them. Yup, sometimes you have to be the grandparent that spoils them. Hope it was a great T day. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteHi Jan, nice to meet someone who also lives in Spain. We live in Granada province, about an hour outside the city, in the north east corner of the province (nowhere near the coast).
ReplyDeleteGrandparents are allowed to spoil their grandchildren and as you say, they will have got rid of the extra calories in no time. (I wish I could say that of our extra calories).
Your sea side town looks very nice. (the Spanish coast is beautiful) I bet you love living there. Once the tourists have gone home it will be even better.
Enjoy your bit of peace and quiet before the next contingent arrives,
Belated Happy T-Day,
Lisca
So envious of where you can walk everyday! And, yes I bet life is nice and quiet after the tourists leave. Chocolate would not last long enough to melt here! TFS
