Happy Tuesday, not sure where the last week went to, my Dad always told me time passes quickly as you get older!!
We’ve not been walking as much as normal as Steve has a bad back, we think he did it cleaning the grouting off the wall outside, he needs two new knees, eventually, so hasn’t been able to kneel for probably 25 years so anything low he either has to sit on a low stool or actually lay on the floor, so he sat on our old caravan step while he worked and obviously was bent over for too long, anyway because of this our usual Monday mornings walk along the seafront, coffee, a visit to the Lotteria to collect our winnings, usually Zilch and a walk back and breakfast was curtailed yesterday, we had to skip the walking and go straight to our coffee place for breakfast. the girl knows us and said the normal, “Dos cafe con leche?” Steve said yes but tomatoes on toast too, she said, really, are you feeling well and felt his forehead, LOL, good job we know her!
The photos are as they arrived at the table and then with tomatoes on the toast and a little pepper.
All for €5.70, our usual place is only four euros but the coffee is half the size! The bread is called Pan Vienna, a soft roll but slightly toasted.
I should have taken a photo of last Fridays breakfast as our normal place was closed for some unknown reason so we went to the bakery next door, when the lady bought out the coffees she also gave us two handmade chocolates, I saved mine until I had eaten breakfast, unfortunately I had to eat both as Steve didn't want his, they were very rich but heavenly.
This week I’ve been joining in the scrap lift challenge on Splitcoaststampers, I’ve finished two pages, I’m using a photo album I bought years ago for joeys photos, he’s now ten so I’ve had it quite long enough, anyway I’m using that for our youngest GS.
I started trying to do one for every month from when he was born with the idea to finish it at his first birthday but we were away too much to keep it up and now he’s nearly three so now I’m just doing our holidays in England with him and his holidays over here, he is arriving a week on Friday so I will be taking plenty of new photos for a new page in the album I’m sure.
My using of stash is going well, I’ve used so many pieces of paper and card, I can’t believe it, not sure I will ever use it all in my lifetime but middle GS, 6, is coming over in July and he’s informed us that’s he’s an extreme mixed media artist! LOL. He loves his craft lessons in after school classes so I’m sure we will make a dent in my supplies and he really loves to go up to my “secret room” to see what he needs! Watch this space!
This building is on our seafront, it's a bit of a wreck which is a shame as it was once the holiday home of a rich family, the owner apparently built aerodromes in Spain and France.
The front as seen in the photo was used by the family and the back part was for the servants.
You can see a small portion of garden where the two buildings are separated in the photo below.
We heard that it had been sold but nothing has happened so we’re not sure it was true, in summer it seems people come to stay, not sure how as most of the windows are boarded up! It’s right on the seafront so it would make a lovely home for someone with bucket loads of cash! We call it the Casino but not sure why as it’s never been one! Funnily enough the seafront bends at that point and it’s usually quite cool at that point until you pass and then it’s warm again, sounds a bit spooky but it’s quite strange.
I'm sure many of you have more delightful food on show so until next week, take care.
Jan x
Hi Jan, definately no fun getting older-I have to baby one of my knees as I do not want anything to do with operations if I can help it.
ReplyDeletegood for you being able to use up your stash in projects.
that does look like a lovely home too bad it is not being lived in-perhaps too expensive for most?
I am not familiar with tomato bread but sounds good.
Hope your Hubs feels better soon-Happy T hugs Kathy
Hi Jan, sorry your husband has problems with his back and knees. I had a knee replacement 3 years back, the second one has to be done but I want to wait as long as possible. Love the look of your breakfast, and what a great price, things are more expensive in Germany. Hope Steve soon feels better. Happy T Day, hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteHope hubby feels much better soon as I know what that feels like when I get a flare up. Great price for your breakfast though not sure I could eat tomato bread-esp. for breakfast:) Happy T day!
ReplyDeleteif i had grandchildren, i would invite them every holidays to come and make art. unfortunately my kids were not very interested in it... more sort of computer kids.
ReplyDeletehappy t-day!
Your breakfast looked good. That house is beautiful, but that does sound a little spooky, with it being cold in that spot. Happy T-Day!
ReplyDeleteHope your hubby feels better soon! A wonderful house and what a fab breakfast!Tomato- and also carrot bread or Olive bread, Zucchini bread...oh yes I love it all!
ReplyDeleteBig hugs and happy T-Day!
I hope your hubby sees improvement soon. It's so easy to cause one problem while you're working around another :(
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you get culinary treats wherever you go :) Wonderful! I'd be interested in that house if I had money, but alas ;) It'll be interesting to see someone come in and fix it up, won't it :) Happy T Tuesday
The breakfast looks great. I hope your husband soon feels better.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a really lovely building so a shame it is neglected
Happy T Day
Love Chrissie xx
I love that you are doing a layout for every year of grandson's life so far. What a great project! Lovely photos of breakfast, and the old beach home. It would be wonderful if you were rich and could buy it and fix it up! Dream on, huh? Hope hubby gets to feeling better. I am surprised you are not hurting for all the stuff you were doing, too.
ReplyDeleteso glad to see you at Tea Day! Hope you get to go to your "secret room" and play today!
Sending your hubby get well wishes, I hope he is feeling better soon ! I enjoyed seeing the old beach house and your breakfast looks delicious - Happy T Day! J 😊 x
ReplyDeleteIts such a shame when old building get neglected. i really liked reading tour post and seeing the photos you added.
ReplyDeleteHope you husband gets well soon.
Your breakfast meal looked delicious.
Happy T day wishes.
Yvonne xx
That is great that you are working on layouts for your GS's album. I started albums for both my sons after they were born but I haven't updated them in 5 years. It is daunting to think about going back and filling in all the missing events. I would almost rather forget about that and just start from present day. I hope that your get a lot of wonderful pictures on your upcoming visit.
ReplyDeleteThat house is beautiful! Hopefully the new owners will bring it back to it's original state. Although, it sounds like it will take a lot of work.
Happy Tea Day,
Kate
I think your tomatoes on toast looks yummy. I was just watching a show about pizza and it reminds me of a good way to enjoy something like pizza without the cheese. I hope you had a great T day Jan. See you in a couple of weeks. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteBreakfast sounds wonderful. I love eating breakfast out. So nice that your grandson shares your interest in art. What lovely memories he'll have of arting in your secret room. I'd love a mansion by the sea. Will have to hit the lottery and before that can happen, I'll have to find a dollar to buy the ticket :-D Happy T Day
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear of your hubby's pain. Mine has many of the same issues and has to contort himself to do anything low or heavy. Then he usually pays a price later.
ReplyDeleteYour breakfast looks yummy and so does the sunny view out the window.
I haven't scrapbooked in a while, but I love doing scraplifts. Having a layout to follow or interpret differently makes a page go much faster for me. The results are usually better too - lol.
An extreme mixed media artist at six - how cute is that?! Maybe you can share something he's done with us at T.
Happy T-day! Eileen xx
I'm sorry to hear your hubby is hurting. It is so annoying to have an old body. I am a thirty year old in a 67 yr old body. It has its limitations. And I keep forgetting.
ReplyDeleteYour breakfast looks lovely. We often go and have an Andalucian breakfast at a bar. I love the toast and tomatoes.
What a shame about that beautiful villa being empty. And so close to the sea front!
Isn't it wonderful that you have a grandchild to share your hobby, your 'passion' and your stash with.
Happy (belated) T-Day,
Lisca
I hope hubby's back gets better soon! Breakfast looks delicious! That building does look beautiful - hopefully one day someone will restore it! Belated Happy T Day! Chrisx
ReplyDeleteI hope your hubby's back and knees both get better. Especially the back since he doesn't need surgery for that. Sounds like you had a quiet week, but going out to breakfast is a favorite thing for me to do. Yours looks yummy, compared to my breakfast shake. Hope you had a great weekend and happy T day. Hugs-Erika
