T is for Tuesday

Happy T Day everyone, I've been missing the last couple of weeks, our son and family came over so I was busy getting everything ready for their visit, now they have left we are almost back to normal life, we had a lovely time with them and managed some beach time and eating out so a few photos to share.

Last Sunday was Mother's Day in the UK so our son took me out whilst he was over for an early meal to celebrate seeing as they would be leaving before the actual day.
We went to one of our favourite restaurants on the Marina, Viggios, unfortunately it was really windy and so we had to eat inside, a shame but food gets cold quickly in the breeze.

Our son chose the fried fish plate, his face was a picture when it arrived at the table, he thought they had made a mistake and he'd been given the sharing meal.

Calamari, Chapitos,(small baby Squid) Sardines, and pieces of other fish. Surprisingly he managed to finish it all but chapitos is his favourite for breakfast when he is over so he was very pleased. All for 13 Euros!!
Our Grandson had Calamari and fries although he could have shared with his Dad I think.

I had Hake and Steve had BBQ ribs but forgot to take photos!

We bought this jar of onions for our son, we'll be taking them to the UK when we visit later in the year, not sure what makes the red vinegar but they are lovely, we saw this giant jar in a supermarket In Cartagena and thought he would love it, it's about 12 inches high!

We had to hide them before our GS spotted them as he loves them and Gherkins, Chorizo, you name it and he will eat it, for a three year old I think that is pretty good.

I spent the end of last week washing and cleaning after they left, they decided to leave some clothes behind as they are planning on coming over in July, so guess who ended up with a mountain of washing and ironing!

Yesterday we started work on our bedroom and ensuite bathroom, some of the wall and floor tiles needed re grouting so Steve fetched the old stuff out and then I spent two hours filling them in again, this morning we've painted the bedroom, not a big job but not being able to take the bed out meant keep moving it around the room! not ideal but it looks so much better, I've just escaped for an hour while it's drying then a clean up and put the curtains back up when they are dry and we are all finished, well should I say that's another job ticked off the list! We've been none stop since December, we've had too many months away from home so the jobs have piled up but we are getting there, slowly.

Today we are celebrating two Anniversaries, today is the day we moved in the villa, 16 years ago and also the day 49 years ago we got engaged, where on earth did all those years go!!

Well I must go back downstairs and start cleaning up so we can put everything back in the bedroom, have a great week one and all, I hope you are doing something that's more fun than I am!!!

  12. The seafood looks wonderful. Too bad it was too breezy to eat outside. I'm not fond of onions, but they do look pretty in the jar. I bet your bedroom looks like an oasis after the face lift. Happy T Day

  14. That certainly is a huge fish plate! I don't think I would cope with that, but your son obviously had no problem.
Well done you with all the spring cleaning, repair, and maintenance jobs. I am so lucky that my hubby does it all. Our house is built on the side of a mountain and is over several floors. The top floor has a door and carport at street level, and the bottom flat comes out in the campo. In winter we live upstairs (huge panorama windows) and in summer we live down stairs, much cooler. We have effectively made two apartments, with a large studio in between the two. When we live downstairs, hubby does the upstairs paint and maintenance jobs and vice versa.
That jar of pickled onions is enormous. No, it wouldn't go in a suitcase!
    Happy belated T-Day,
    Lisca

  15. We need to get back to our decorating - the darker nights came before we could finish our living room....OK!...any excuse!! We have a lot of removal of furniture to finish it - the rest was done with little disruption!! That plate of seafood was huge - did your son manage to eat it all? Belated Happy T day! Chrisx
