T is for home sweet home

Sorry I didn’t get to visit many blogs last time I joined the T Party, it’s amazing how quickly the time passed while our GS was at kindergarten, by the time we’d shopped prepared dinner, cleaned around it was time to collect him again.
Thank you all for your visit and the kind comments, they are very much appreciated.
We are finally home after three months away, we had a good journey home although it takes two days but we had a relaxing time on the ferry. I thought you might be interested to see our cabin.
This is the beds with the window, not much to see in all fairness when you are out at sea but I can’t bear to be in a windowless cabin.
This is the view to the door, the door on the left is the shower room, a small wardrobe, closet as some of you call it and a small desk,
This is the shower room, just roomy enough to do our ablutions as Steve would say.
This is our travel kettle and my ticket to join the T party, we’ve had it for about twelve years and it always goes with us, it just fits in a small cool bag with the two mugs and in the front pocket we keep the teabags and spoon,
Finally my Birthday present from my eldest son, he gave it to me the day before we flew to SF, it was very heavy and I had already weighed the suitcases and locked them so I decided to leave it behind until we arrived back.
I was so pleased with them as I can never find craft mags in Spain and they are so expensive to have them sent out, apparently he asked his Dad what he could buy me and Steve suggested a couple of mags, they should keep me going for quite a while and they all have free stamps or dies on them! Steve suggested I save them until I got home but I couldn’t resist opening the packets to see all the freebies.
That’s me finished for this week, I’ve got two Christmas cakes in the oven, one small one for our son to take home with him, his wife is Polish and doesn’t really like them, I’ve made one to eat over Christmas and I’ve got Mince pies ready to go in the oven, better go and check them. Take care Jan x

  1. Hi Jan It must feel really good to be back home-that is a small cabin-I agree with needing a window for sure. perfect gift from your son-enjoy!! I have not enjoyed a mince pie since my Grandma passed-she made the best-and the old farm girl way with meats are your christmas cakes full of fruits? I still make those for my husband. Happy T wishes hugs Kathy

  2. Glad you had a great trip, but I'm sure you're happy to be home again. The cabin looks quite good, I've seen smaller ones. Enjoy your craft mags, I don't buy any here for the same reason! Happy T Day, hugs, Valerie

  3. I would have been here sooner, Jan, but I couldn't get your link to work. When I tried to correct it, Firefox wouldn't allow me in. It said the site was corrupted. However, the link I tried wasn't quite the same as the one I got from your blogger profile, which I only got once you left me a comment.

Regardless, I am so glad you are home and things are still in good shape. Your cabin was tiny, but you had all the essentials.

Those craft magazines are wonderful. Here in the states, you don't get stamps or dies in your magazines. However, I noticed you do in the ones that come from the UK.

Your Christmas cakes sound great and your mince pies have me remembering Christmases at home with my grandparents where my grandmother made them every year at Christmas.

You are certainly well prepared for travel with that travel tea pot and cups. Good for you. Thanks for sharing your trip, your baking your birthday magazines, and your traveling tea pot with us for T this Tuesday.

  4. I'm glad you had a nice trip, but I'm sure it's nice to be back home. I had to find you by doing a search, because your T-link wasn't valid. Happy Belated T-Day!

  5. Ahh, back home again after three months. I'm sure you have mixed emotions about leaving SF. But how very cool to come home to Spain and a birthday gift that will last a long time! I enjoyed your posts from SF very much. Our son lives in Oakland.

    Happy T-day! Eileen xx
