T is for Tuesday

Hello Ladies, hope everyone is safe and well, I’m pleased to say I’m feeling good and  thank you for all your kind comments last week.

We’ve been doing a few jobs around the villa,  we removed three electric heaters that haven’t been used since we had the log fire, of course we had holes to fill in and then painting, luckily we were able to just paint where we had filled in the holes, we were worried it would mean painting the whole room, not something we relished doing in the heat.

We also had some ceiling fans fitted in the lounge and dining room, they are quite big but when they are off the blades are tucked away, we thought they looked a little more modern too, they also have remote control, another one for my husbands collection!!

This is the fan off with just the light on, it has three different coloured lights, so of course I had to stand and watch while my husband played with all the settings, he does love a remote control!

Not sure if you noticed the clock in the background, it’s a giant wristwatch, we bought it when we lived in Germany when I was pregnant with our eldest son, he’s 49 next month, it does lose a few minutes but it’s traveled about with us, our sons don’t like it but I  tell them it’s a heirloom, ha,ha, I couldn’t part with as it’s one of the few things we have left for our time in Germany.

This is the blades out, it isn't flashing,It's the light catching the spinning blade, our DIL asked why it flashes as it spins!! They are so quiet too, that's why we took the ones out from the bedroom as the clicking sounds drove us mad.

My drink this week is a coffee, on  Friday we decided to have a Chinese’s meal, I didn’t take photos as I’ve shown this restaurant before but before lunch we had a short stroll at another beach, it was too hot by midday to walk very far but it was nice to sit and enjoy the view.

Not much else to report apart, we spending our afternoons in the shade reading and swimming as it's very hot now, the pool is 28c so I'm also doing some lengths to get fit. I'm still picking bowls of strawberries every day, we could do with the GS's here to help eat them although the wood lice seem to like them too!!

Happy T Day, hope you are also enjoying some good weather.

Jan x

  3. So pleased to hear that you're feeling better! Wow, sounds like you're having lovely hot weather and the pool must be very inviting too 😀. I'd happily enjoy a cuppa with you and a walk along the beach - perfect! Happy T Day! Hugs, Jo x

  4. That's clever design, having retractable blades for the ceiling fan and not too much noise. It's amazing that air conditioning isn't the norm there as it is everywhere here that gets hot weather. But it means we don't do much outdoors when it's hot.

  5. Your meals on the beach always look so wonderful Jan. You must really enjoy that. I like how the blades disappear when you don't need them. That is really a great idea. And nice story about the wrist watch clock. Hope you're having a great T day. And nice week ahead. Hugs-Erika

  6. Your meal on the beach sounds perfect. It is really hot here too so I enjoy our deck looking at the lake early mornings and evenings-the rest of the time I am in the house.
That's awesome your clock is still working-good memories. Nice that your home projects were more simple too. Happy T wishes Hugs Kathy

  7. That ceiling fan looks so cool- I've not seen any like it but would love to switch at least one of ours out with one like this. Nothing like eating at the beach:) Happy T day!

  8. I know you said you don't have very much going on but it sounds like the perfect day to me. Reading, swimming, picking and eating strawberries... the joy of retirement. One day.
Glad you are feeling better. And the light looks contemporary.
    Happy Tea Day,
    Kate

  11. I'm glad you are feeling better and I'm happy that you seem to have had a better week than last week.
Did you get your TIE? We have our appointment at the police station in town on Thursday for my hubby (I don't need one).
I have never seen a ceiling fan like that, with retractable blades. I don't really care, but like you, I want my fan to be silent. Our house is pretty cool and we have ceiling fans but we haven't used them yet this season. At the height of summer we will use them.
Still eating strawberries? How lovely. We are in the middle of cherry season here and we have cherries coming out of our earholes so to speak. We love them!
That clock is very special. It is not only unusual but also has memories for you.
    Happy T-Day,
    Hugs,
    Lisca

  12. I am so glad you are feeling better, Jan. That fan is out of this world. I love how the blades retract. So different. Your watch clock is priceless. I am sure it not only is functional, but holds many great memories, too.

Walking on the beach, then eating within view of it must be fabulous. I live so far from any beach, just enjoying your photos always makes me smile. Lovely coffee, too.

Thanks for sharing your new fan, your walk on the beach, and your coffee with us for T this Tuesday, dear Jan. Sorry I'm late visiting. Life got in the way today.

  14. I like that fan. Less to dust when the fan blades aren't in use. Beach walk, strawberries, hot weather sound perfect to me. Winter seems to last so long here so I relish the hot weather. Take care, stay cool, and Happy t Day

  15. Jan 28 degrees is what we call perfect weather although I’m not sure I would go for a swim..maybe a tad too cold for us. I wait until it’s in the high 30s lol. Cool fan and never seen one like that but I’m sure they have them here. We have one fan on our deck and in 9 years have never had it on. We have aircon inside. Glad you are now walking again and feeling better. Happy week. Hugs from Oz jx
