T is for Tapas, again

Hello Ladies, hope you are all well, we seem to have had another busy week but now I look back I wonder why.

We did collect our documents for our TIE card and Sunday we decided we would take a drive to Murcia to see where the offices are, actually it was very easy to find but then we decided to go to IKEA, only five minutes drive away apparently, the trouble is that we had to find our way back to the motorway,  not always easy here as they have service roads alongside the main roads and motorways so sometimes it can be confusing, thank goodness it was early and Sunday with not so much traffic.

We already have two chairs but decided to buy two more but as we went in the main door we spotted some lovely cane chairs, my husband asked one of the staff if they were in the garden section, she said yes so we decided to go there first, as you may know that is near the check outs!

we couldn’t find them, asked at the desk, no joy so we gave up, went all the way back to find the ones we came for and then spotted the ones we’d been looking for, unfortunately they were quite expensive and we would have to buy four to match, we ended up buying the ones we already had, by this time we were flagging so found a short cut to pay, I always like the thought of going to IKEA but never actually enjoy it.

I was shocked that my husband decided to put them together when we got home, I hate helping  him as he is methodical, counts the screws etc by that time I’m on page ten, ha,ha such fun. I will post a photo next week when all the hanging pots are in place

So Friday we decided to try a restaurant the other end of the beach from last week

to the left you can see the campsite, it’s starting to fill up

Unfortunately even at midday they had no tapas ready so we just had a coffee, lovely views. This is looking to the right, it's quite a steep drop from where you can see the edge of the beach and quite stony, we had to buy the GSs rubber shoes to wear.

We went back to the Oasis restaurant, the same place as last week rather than drive somewhere else

We did have one different Tapas, pork in salsa, very nice, apart from that the other two tapas were the same, even the drinks.

I like to watch the birds, one even sat on the chair next to me and started chirping loudly, that was before the food even arrived.

I took this photo, they sit on the gate, you can see them waiting,  when the waitress disappears they try to go inside looking for food

Good news I had my colon results back today, negativo! The weather is hot now, yesterday when we went back to the car after our walk it was showing 38c, we were parked in the sun, it dropped to 31con the way home! Today it was 27c at 10am so if you'd like to pop over for a cool drink you will find me in the shade with a book.

Take Care Ladies

Jan x

  1. Hi Jan! Glad your colon results were good, stay well! I know exactly what you mean about IKEA, it's like walking through a maze filled with screaming kids and their harassed looking parents! glad you got your chairs in the end. Good that your husband can put them together for you, be patient with him! the restaurant looks good, it's nice to be able to go out again! Happy T Day, stay well, hugs, Valerie

Please, if you are interested, look here!!!!

Yes, sorry, reckon IKEA it is after all! Minus the putting together...

  3. My experience living in Spain was NOTHING BUT horrible frustrations with the type of things you mentioned: poorly designed roads, unready restaurants, frustrating shopping, employees that won't help you, and the like. I don't think I'll ever return there. I hope all your frustrations are minor!

  4. Send some warmth this way. It’s down to 14 tonight…brrrr. Yes IKEA….like a maze and by the time you find what you are looking for, you need a cheeky wine or two to recover lol. Looking forward to seeing your new chairs. We get birds hanging around for food at outdoor cafes. I could sit at your cafe with you and have tapas and sangria. One day. Glad your results came back ok. Hugs from Oz jx

  6. Ah, IKEA! We have one here, and it's an experience. Somehow I always have trouble finding that one think I went there for, but I always find other things lol

Those views are lovely, and bird-watching and people-watching add a lot to the fun :) Congrats on your good test results! Happy T Tuesday

  9. I was sure I left a comment earlier, but obviously that was a figment of my imagination. I was thrilled to read you had a negative test result, which is wonderful.

I have wanted to visit an IKEA, but there isn't one within a thousand miles of where I live. Sounds like they can be quite frustrating, though. Not sure I have the patience for that, though. I fear I am like your husband and I count every screw, bracket, etc. before I start a project like that. People would not want to be around me when I'm assembling something (grin).

You got some beautiful ocean views and loved the view of the coffee at the beach. It's OK to eat and drink the same things two weeks in a row. If I'm out and about and find sonething I like at a restaurant, I often order the same thing the next time I go, too. Thanks for sharing your good news, your coffee, and your wine and tapas with us for T this Tuesday, dear.

  10. Beautiful ocean views, but yes, rubber shoes are a must on the really stony beaches. So lovely to be able to enjoy a drink and meals outdoors! Great news about your colon testing!! Enjoy these warm days of summer, and happy T day!

  11. That restaurant where you buy tapas is so lovely. I have never been to IKEA but it is big around here. So many people love going there but I have never found the time to drive 2 hours just for that.
So glad that your colon results were negative.
    Happy Tea Day,
    Kate

  12. We have the heat now also, so I may pull up a chair and join you with my book. IKEA is a great place to shop but can be confusing too. Too bad the chairs you really liked were so expensive. But the good news is your colon results were negative and you did managed to get some tapas, so all is OK I would think. Hope it was a lovely T day.Hugs-Erika

  13. Congratulations on good news on your colon. Ikea always sounds fun. Yes, I almost hate to help hubby, because he sometimes yells at me, if I don't get something quick enough for him! LOL Happy T Day!

  14. Jan, happy T-day a bit late (had to work late yesterday). My weeks are always like that - busy, busy, busy but when you go to write it all down, it is ends up being work, grocery shopping, doctor, bills, a bit of art, repeat - lol.

Love the pictures - all so fun. Tapas in Spain - sounds heavenly! Such lovely views as well.

I do not even try to help my hubby - he is just like yours - they could be good friends.

Glad your test results were good.

  15. I have never been to an Ikea. They seem to always be so far away from where I live. Glad you found some chairs thought. Excellent on you negative results too. Looks like a love view from the restaurant.

  16. I can totally identify with the Ikea story, even the getting on and off the motorway. It's different depending from which direction you come.On one occasion I asked my husband to get a particular item after he dropped me off at Alicante airport. He got totally lost as he was coming from the other direction. But Ikea is a bit too far for us to go there regularly. I do actually like going there and I know the short cuts by now. Hubby loves the restaurant, so we make a day of it when we do go there.
As for the assembling of the furniture. I do admit that I am very good at that and my hubby lets me get on with it, but i do sometimes need him to hold something or push in screws.
Congratulations on your negative results. That must be a load off your mind.
How lovely to be able to have tapas with that view! We also like the pork in tomato sauce. Good choice.
    Happy belated T-Day,
    Hugs,
    Lisca
