Keep it Simple

I'm joining  Neet at Hickydorums for the first time, I'm new to art journals although I've had my journal for a few years but sometimes I like to play when I'm in the mood.

I made this piece a few months ago but I thought it would hopefully fit for this challenge.

I started out with a sheet from a Marianne paper pad called La Musique, it has instruments and different objects including this transistor radio, took me back to my teenage years when I lay in bed with my tiny radio with a tiny ear plug listening to the charts on the pirate radio stations, Radio Luxembourg and Radio Caroline, I loved Tony Blackburn!! I would listen to the countdown hoping my favourite song would be number one!!

I used texture paste with my music stencil and generally went over the top playing with different textures I typed the sentiments before cutting them up.

  1. How lovely to have you join in with my theme at Art Journal Journey and with such a lovely journal page too. I love the sounds of the sixties as well and I remember Radio Luxembourg and Radio Caroline being two of my favourite stations.
What a lovely texture you have to your page, and I do like how you have incorporated the words that you actually typed.
Thanks for joining us at AJJ - I hope this is the first of many times we will see you there.
    Hugs, Neet xx

  3. Ah yes, the tiny radio with the one earphone! How nice to be reminded.
Your page is very evocative of this and I like the radio and your actual typed words.

  6. Wow, Jan. LOve all that texture you created on your journal page. It is beautiful. I like your unique choice of ways to celebrate Neet's theme at Art Journal Journey. It's really outside the box.
