Long Time no T

I'm back, it’s taken a while to get back into the swing of things. We had Lots of fun with the family but because of the heat we’ve had to get back to normal slowly, I’m not sure why it takes me so long to get back into normal life after visitors.

We had so many lovely meals out, we decided it would be cooler to eat out than cook in the heat, our GS at five years old has eaten so many things, he’s really amazing.

The first evening we went to the Italian restaurant on the Marina which is their favourite place, our GS wanted Octopus, when it arrived it was a whole leg, we thought he would freak him out but no, he tucked in to it and managed to eat three quarters of it, of course his Dad and Grandad finished it off,  as a family we never waste food!

The Cuttle Fish my Husband ordered.

I was boring and had Hake and DIL had Bolonese Pizza.

My Sons fried Fish platter, notice his holiday shirt, they are always left here for his holidays. Also his Tankard of beer!

Second night we had an Indian meal, our GS had poppadoms with mango sauce, some prawn cocktail, we ordered him a prawn korma but he fell asleep, his dad carried him home, totally forgot to take photos . Same at the Chinese restaurant, no photos, GS had spring rolls, duck pancakes that he rolled himself and prawns.

The last night they chose to go back to the Italian restaurant, our GS had Chopitos, I wish I could show the whole photo of him as he was concentrating on eating with such a serious face!

My husband ordered Ribs, another holiday shirt of course!!

We didn't actually eat out for quite a few weeks after they left, you can see why!

We had a fun trip to Murcia last week, we tried to order a new mini iPad for me, it has to be done online and my DH tried but was a bit worried so we drove over to the apple store, an hours drive, so two young ladies were helping us,I picked the colour, purple of course, all good until we tried to pay, our Spanish debit card wouldn’t bring up the pop up to accept the payment, tried twice, then tried DHs card, same, tried the credit card it, it said NO! We offered cash ,not allowed, asked if they had the card machine, no had to be online for pre orders.

I realised on the way home that they had used our Spanish address with the credit card and it’s a British card, ha,ha, well after that we gave up, we did have lunch on the way home but we both felt physically drained, my DH isn’t good at not being in charge as he likes to take his time and read every part when it involves his money! whereas the girls were zipping through it all LOL.

Hopefully in a couple of weeks they will have some spare stock and we can just buy one with cash!

I received this card from my friend in Australia, it was a while ago, to congratulate me on being the Feature Stamper on SCS, we had made BGs using the Bokeh method for a challenge and you can see how beautiful my friends turned out. It's also very glittery around the circles which doesn't show on the photo.

It was such a lovely surprise to find it in the mailbox.

I hope everyone is keeping healthy, I’m looking forward to checking out what you’ve all been up to, keep safe.

Jan x

  1. Hi Jan, sounds like a fun time with your family, and lots of good things to eat. Sorry about the mix-up with the card, things like that happen. Have a good week, take care, hugs, Valerie

  2. Credit cards are so convenient when traveling, but I'm always afraid something will go wrong and I'll be stranded somehow. I hope you straighten things out.

Your grandson sounds like an amazing eater!

    Cash not allowed?!
Snail mail is always fun - if from friends!
    Happy T-Day to you!

  4. When I was in Japan we ate live octopus. It was so good. Looks like you had a good time. We never waste food here either. Especially with shortages and the prices now. Glad you are back. Have a nice day.

  5. So glad to see you back at T, Jan. You were missed. Love that your GS is such a good fearless eater. So sweet that he was so adventurous. Sounds like you all had a wonderful time while they were here. I can see why you didn't want to eat out after those experiences.

Sounds like a hassle when it comes to buying an Apple product. I refuse to get a credit card. If I can't pay cash, I don't want it. My foodie friend Sally calls me a troglodyte, but I don't believe in spending more than I have. Sorry they didn't take cash. I've also been places where they explained something so fast, I lost track. I would tell the person to back up and start over so I actually understood what they were saying. I'm not afraid to slow a sales person down.

You got a lovely card in the mail. I am always confused by acronyms, though. I finally figured out Split Coast Stampers, but still have no idea what BGs are. Maybe you can share that with us when we have no idea what you are talking about. I suspect Sharon will know, but the rest of us are probably clueless.

Thanks for taking us to all these great restaurants, the many drinks, to your iPad buying experience, and your lovely card you received for T this Tuesday, dear Jan.

    Thank

  6. Oh the restaurants! My, your grandson is an adventurous eater. Good for him and (mom and dad, for teaching him to try different things) I don't think I would have freaked at the octopus leg! Ugh too bad about the hassle with the iPad, but hopefully when they get more in stock you'll have an easier time. Really gorgeous card from your friend. Happy T Day

  10. So much good food. I've never had octopus or cuddlefish, but I can just imagine your grandson and a whole tentacle. Maybe if the head was still there it would not have been good. he is definitely a very adventurous eater. I bet it was nice to see your family. Too bad about the iPad and not getting a purple one at the store. Hope you had a super T day Jan. Happy new week. Hugs-Erika

  13. So fun to get happy mail from J! Her cards are so delightful. Glad the visit went to well and you had lots of food adventures for your DGS!!! He sound very adventurous with food - I have one that is and two that aren't - but I know the adventurous one would not eat octopus. Impressive for sure. Ordering computers and phones and ipads is all stressful to me and a card doesn't work it really stresses me - I would have had to stop off for wine or something on the way home - lol. Happy T-day my sweet friend! Hugz

  14. Welcome back.
Looks like you had a fab summer with your family. All those lovely meals. Great that you have a GS who will try everything. My GS is the same.
Ordering a computer is stressful. Coincidentally I am going to order my husband a Macbook tonight. I will do it online. Hopefully our card will work, as I don't know where the nearest Mac store is. (Granada probably). Did you manage to order yours eventually, or are you still iPad-less?
The card your friend sent you is beautiful. I am not a lover of purple, but that card is stunning!
I'm sorry to be late again, but as I've mentioned before, we are not home on a Tuesday and I can't get to my computer.
    Happy belated T-Day,
    Hugs,
    Lisca

  16. You made it to tea! Your visit with your family sounds so lovely; and I know you enjoyed every moment. Jayney's card is beautiful. Glad you had such a nice surprise in your mailbox. I hope you have lots of happy mail coming your way. I have to go shopping for both a laptop and an iPad. Both batteries are shot, plus need more storage on both. Oh, well, we have to have our devices! LOL
