Hello ladies, thank you to those of you who came over to visit last week, it was so lovely to see you and read your comments.
Our weather has cooled quite a bit, the days are now comfortable, lovely to sit in the garden, cool evenings too so no air con or even the fan, the pool is getting cooler too which isn’t quite so good as I’m very nesh as we say, we are trying to swim as much as possible before it gets too cool, the pool temperature has been 30c through August!
We see this cow every morning on our walk along the Paseo, usually being pushed out of the shop, always makes us smile as when we had to wear a mask it had a mask on, sometimes sunglasses, over the weekend a sun hat.
We had a lovely Menu Del Dia last Wednesday but unfortunately I couldn’t take any photos, the place was full and it’s a massive restaurant on the Marina so I felt uncomfortable getting my phone out, shame as it was delicious, I had salad and gazpacho, (cold tomatoe soup), I actually ordered the pork but when it came it had sauce on it so my husband swapped me for his meluza(hake) the couple on the next table were laughing at us, my husband had guiso (stew) it looked delicious but it’s too filling for me, the Spanish really make delicious stews but always for a starter which is usually bigger than the main course.
My drink for this week is this cute mug, they all have quotes on the other side.
They are usually in Spanish but this one is in English.
The cafe where we have breakfast has a selection of big mugs, Alvaro says he knows the English enjoy a large coffee and hot but he was telling us that the Spanish prefer their coffee in glasses as they prefer their coffee lukewarm .
We finally managed to meet our friends for breakfast yesterday, they go home on Sunday and every time we arrange a day something comes up, we had time to catch up a little bit but we noticed a piece of metal sticking our of our car tyre when we parked so we had to leave to get it fixed, luckily it hadn’t damaged the tyre!
This is a notepad my GS chose for me from the school Fayre, it's actually quite realistic.
I actually have quite a few notebooks, For some reason I love them and I have quite a few, but never use them! I used to write my shopping list in them but now I use the notes on my iPhone.
I received this lovely card from a crafty friend who lives in Canada, the background behind the trees of the Northern lights is so beautiful, I have met so many friends through crafting and the T blog, the lady at the post office even commented when I had a pile of cards to post as I only had one to the UK, the rest were going to Canada and the US.
Tomorrow we are off to Murcia again to try and buy my mini iPad, again, wish me luck as I feel I may need it!!
Jan x

The chocolate looks delicious. I like the cow statue.
ReplyDeleteNotebooks always appealed to me also -- but now I never write in them because I keep everything in the phone or computer. Like you, I had so many that were very decorative, it's too bad.

Good morning I love the cow too-that would have been fun to see-all dressed up with sunglasses or wearing a mask.
ReplyDeletenice you were able to catch up with your friends, I am loving the cooler morning temps too. good luck buying your ipad-hugs and Happy T Kathy
I'm waving at the cow from here. Greetings! I'd also rather not have the sauce. It's interesting that the starters there are so big. Not what I'd expect, which is one of the joys of hearing about life elsewhere. Happy T Tuesday!
ReplyDeleteOur weather is cooling off a bit also, which is great. I wish we had a pool. I can understand why it will get to cold to swim and how you would miss it. You food sounds good, and as I am not a coffee drinker I didn't know that the Spanish like theirs luke warm. It is interesting how cultures are different and always fascinating to read about. Hope you are having a super T day Jan. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteSo much to smile about today with that the fun cow, cute cups and sayings, chocolate and beautiful card - perfect 😀. Happy T Day wishes! Hugs Jo x
ReplyDeleteLOVED that fun cow. I think that notepad is adorable. Your GS knows you so well! That's a beautiful card from Canada. I really like it.
ReplyDeleteI will trade you weather. Here it is still in the high 90s F (35+ C). I can understand wanting to be able to swim until it gets too cold in the pool.
I like the cup and saucer you were served. I have seen others (like Lisca) have glasses of coffee, and now I know why. I also prefer my coffee cool or luke warm. Thanks for sharing your meal, that cow, the notepad, and your coffee with us for T this Tuesday, dear Jan.
The cow made me smile! How fun to see it on your morning walks. That's a lovely mug. Good luck with buying the mini iPad.
ReplyDeleteLoving that notepad. They are fun to collect, aren't they? One can never have too many as there are so many subject's to record.
ReplyDeleteThe stew sounds delicious.
Happy Tea Day,
Kate
Happy late T-day, Jan. Great note pad and great card you received - I feel the same as you about blogging and crafting friends - they are so lovely and supportive and fun. How fun to have a cow to pass by on your walks and such wonderful places to eat and have coffee. Where you live is so beautiful. So glad it is getting cooler and giving you some relief - same here. YOu can actually go outside without gasping and being attacked by bugs. I love this time of year. Hugz!!!!
ReplyDeleteThat cow would make me smile, too. I thought you were showing us some chocolate! Very cool notepad. Good luck with the iPad. Happy T Day
ReplyDeleteI love to see quirky things in shops or the streets and the cow made me smile as we have a town here that has a lot of cows around the place. I love notepads too and journals and yours is very realistic. I could eat it lol. Good job that you noticed the metal in your tyre. Good luck with buying your new iPad. Happy week and hugs
ReplyDeleteThat is a cute cow. I would smile too I think, especially if it was wearing sunglasses or a hat.
ReplyDeleteHave you got your iPad yet? I hope you remembered to bring your Spanish cards this time. I must say that we always use Spanish bank cards, we only use our Uk cards when we are actually in the Uk . Our pensions get sent directly to our Spanish bank.
I have just bought a Macbook(online) it arrived too late for me to collect it from the post office (we’re on holiday now) so the post mistress is keeping it for me. But the funny thing is my bank account hasn’t been debited yet. So I haven’t paid for it yet!
I love notepads too and yours looks good enough to eat!
Happy belated T Day,
Hugs,
Lisca
What a sweet cow, I love that they dress it up with different hats etc. I also love your chocolate notepad! Sorry for my lateness, have a sick kitty. Happy T Day! Elle/EOTC xx
ReplyDeleteI hope you were able to get your mini ipad. Our son is coming soon for a visit and I hope he will help me shop for a new iPad and new laptop, too. Love the cow! Great that you could get the visit in with your friends before they left. Happy T Day.
ReplyDeleteI love this cow. I would put it in my front yard. LOL. So nice that you were able to visit with friends.
ReplyDeleteThe cow made me smile. It may be cooler for your but at least not yet cold I hope. We were able to go out in the evening in Paris without jackets, although I understand it is cooler there now too.Good Luck with your iPad - I have yet to get to grips with my new one. Hugs, Chrisx
