Happy T Day Ladies, I've been AWOL for a few weeks as we had our family over from England and then we've been slowly getting the villa back to normal, takes some time in the heat as we only do one job per day, we were getting up at 7am to clean before the sun came out!!
We had a lovely visit and our 7 year old Grandson kept us on our toes, he decided we all had to play volley ball in the pool, he of course made the rules up as we went along, always in his favour of course!! it was fun but tiring, luckily with the heat he was only allowed in the pool for 15 minutes at a time during the day, half an hour or so in the shade before going back in, in between he tried again to teach me Roblox, at least he said I'm much better than his Baba, who apparently can't go in a straight line LOL
The restaurant where we took our son to for his Birthday, 51!!!! They had never been there before so it was a lovely surprise although we had a ten minute walk as it's so busy we couldn't find anywhere to park.
Our starter was a salad, it had feta cheese, walnuts, pine nuts etc, it was delicious, we shared it with our Grandson who loves salads, we’d already started before I remembered to take a photo
Our son had Carpaccio, looked lovely but I don't like raw meat.
Our GS had Carbanara, I forgot to take any more photos unfortunately, our Son, DIL and DH had pasta dishes, I had chicken Escalope I think it was called.
I always think of it as Schnitzel, I loved them when we lived in Germany, especially with Zigeuner Sauce, I think translates as Gypsy Sauce.
This is my ticket to the T party, we’ve had so many Strawberries, I’ve made Jam and we’ve had smoothies but I have bags of them frozen so I decided to make Strawberry Gin, this is my first batch , I’ve tried a taster and it’s lovely with tonic, I will be taking some to England for our son and DIL to try, it also looks quite nice too.
I hope to join you all at some point , it’s still baking hot but not quite so humidbut we are chilling out in the garden in the shade and taking the occassional dip in the pool, we are keeping away from the seafront as it’s packed with holidaymakers! How Dare they, LOL
Take Care Dear Friends.
Jan x

So good to see you, Jan! Sounds like you have been super busy. Great photos, that salad looks wonderful (craving one now), and your gin looks fabulous. I am impressed you made it. Wow.
ReplyDeleteHappy t-day and hugz
The heat is a burden in so many places right now! Too bad your beaches are crowded, but nice that you have a pool. Somehow we have a chilly rainy day here in Michigan. We are lucky!

It sounds like you have been having fun in spite of the big heat. Your food looks great, too. Happy T day, hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteI love the view from that restaurant, and the food looks delicious. You make me want to be there :) Happy T Tuesday
ReplyDeleteLooks like a delicious meal with a great view. Hosting family is fun but exhausting. Glad that you enjoyed your visit.
ReplyDeleteHappy Tea Day,
Kate
It sounds like you had a really lovely visit with your family. I bet he did love the pool, and I bet he did keep you on your toes. And it's was all good, right? The food looks amazing. Do you miss them now? I hope it was a super T day, and week ahead. hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteSeven year olds are very exhausting. I know from experience. And then doing the cleaning after they have al gone. I feel for you eith this hot weather.
ReplyDeleteThe restaurant looks like a really nice place to eat. Right on the beach. And the salads look amazing. But I don't like how they put rucola on everything. I don't particularly like it and always end up having to pick all the leaves off.
Happy T-Day,
Hugs,
Lisca
I want you to know I shared the lovely gifts you sent two weeks ago, Jan. Thankfully, yours was not one of the gifts I lost. Sorry I'm late getting here. I spent time in an ice bath trying to help my back I hurt during the neighborhood clean up. Even though I bent with my knees, I felt something go when I stood up.
ReplyDeleteI suspect it's hard to keep up with a seven year old. They sure keep you on your toes.
What a lovely meal you shared of your son's birthday. I was really impressed with the different dishes. Of course, the strawberry gin sounds fabulous and I am impressed you made it yourself. I've never had gin, so I would love to try it, too.
Thanks for sharing your son's birthday, your trip to the beach, and your strawberry gin with us for T this Tuesday, dear, sweet Jan.
And thanks again for the incredible die cuts, glittery goodies, embossed pieces, and awesome ATC you sent, too, dear.
Lovely restaurant. Strawberry gin sounds so good and it looks so pretty, too. Happy T Day
