T is for Road Trip

Hello Ladies, T day once again where we all join our hostess Elizabeth and Bluebeard for our weekly drink related Get together.
We had a really great trip to Las Vegas, it took us nearly ten hours driving, well not me, our son and Steve shared the driving, we stopped for breakfast on the way and quite a few coffee breaks.
The scenery on the way when was so like Spain, hills and dry scrub land, made me miss home!
We arrived at the hotel and our sons friends family own a hotel chain, He managed to get us an upgrade, what a fabulous suite, as you can see we had two beds, dining area and a lounge area and you could have a dance in the bathroom.
Views from the lounge area of the LinQ, you can see us looking out at the view, me clinging to Steve as it made my legs go to jelly, we were on the 29th floor, it’s lit up at night, all different colours go around the outside, we did go on it and the views were amazing although you can’t see the strip from it as it’s at the back of the hotels.
We had a visit to the famous Pawn shop feature on TV, obviously we didn’t see any of the famous people but it was interesting to see the shop.
The first night we were quite tired after the journey so we went for a walk and a beer before going back to the hotel and our son ordered room service, chicken wings, a club sandwich, cheese and meats, a dip with crudités, it was quite funny as our son opened a napkin and four slices of bread fell out, it was quite like a magic trick!
My drink for this week,I bought these glasses as a bit of fun for DIL, we always have a G&T on Thanksgiving before lunch so I saw these and thought they would be a bit of fun to have sparkly glasses, one each
Our son took us to Morton’s Steakhouse, the meal a was delicious and the steaks. Melted in your mouth, I had filet Mignon, our son had a Ribeye and Steve had a Veal chop, they were all massive,, we had a baked potato with sour cream, sprouts, mash with horseradish and mushrooms to share, I totally forgot to take any photos, our son said I must be the worst food blogger on the planet!
Thanks to all that came across last week for a visit and for your lovely comments, they are much appreciated, have a Happy T Day
Jan x

  3. Oh, Jan, this was delightful! Your room looks gorgeous. I had never heard of a lin-Q, or ridden in one. Looks lie the views would be great. It looks like you had a lovely time. You tell your son, you are a great food blogger! I still try to keep my blog a craft blog, because I never have anything to take a photo with when we go out. Happy T Day!

  4. Oh, I hate having two beds! We always sleep in one then and the maid is always happy she has less work to do :-)
I could never look out from 5 floors up, or 3 even! My Mum had a condo that high and... weee... no way.
Your food looks yummy! And, oh, steaks and horseradish!
Jan, I´m really hungry now, happy T-Day x

  5. Wow, what a wonderful trip you had. It all looks so wonderful. You could dance in my bathroom, too, but only if you dance on the spot! You were a long way up indeed, the views must have been magnificent, I would have loved that! Happy T Day, Valerie

  6. This was a fun view of Vegas. I've not heard of the lin-Q before, so looked it up. Did you go on the zip line? I see it was the old Flamingo which I have been to. You sure got a great upgrade. That bath area is fabulous. and I had to laugh at the glasses. They were truly VEGAS, all glitz and glitter. Thanks for sharing your time in Vegas and the glasses you bought with us for T this Tuesday. Had to laugh at your son's comment. Even though I take my camera with me everywhere, sometimes I get so engrossed in conversation, I also forget to take photos.

  10. It sounds like a great trip and the hotel room looked very comfortable. I don;t think I would have looked out of the window as I am not good with heights. Your meal sounded delicious.

  11. That scenery illustrates why some of those "spaghetti westerns" were filmed in Spain :) That hotel room certainly looks luxurious, and the room service shows that hotel takes its presentation seriously. I love those sparkly glasses -quite festive!

    Happy T Tuesday :)

  12. What a great trip! I was in Las Vegas in the year 2000. Gosh that is nearly 20 years ago! And I remember the hotels were quite fancy and we too got two beds. I think everywhere in the US we got two beds (why? I wouldn't want to share with another couple)
My mouth is watering at your description of the steaks. (drool, drool)
    Happy T-Day,
    Lisca
