T is for Time’s up!
This is my last post from San Francisco, we fly back to UK on Friday evening, just a week over there before we catch the ferry back to Spain.
I had another post ready but after our meal out last Friday I had to show the pictures instead. First I must apologise to any Vegetarians and vegans as it’s a meat overload.
THe restaurant was in San Mateo, called Espetus Brazilian Steakhouse , what an experience, the head waitress came over to explain how it worked!
Firstly you collect a plate and go to the buffet for the starters,
The choice was amazing, stews, salads of all descriptions, veggies, rice, even paella! Seeing as our son had warned us what was to come we were careful not to overload on the starters, I had beetroot, tomatoes, cabbage salad, which was delicious , potatoe salad and yucca fries! One of each type, Tasted the same to me but too dry.
Next the waiters came around the tables with long skewers with meat on them, they start to carve and you grab the piece with your tweezers and he continues to carve the slice, we had lamb, all cuts of beef, chicken, pork belly, giant shrimps and chicken hearts that I couldn’t even look at! Our son and Steve of course had them!
On the table they have a circle on a stand, red for no and green means they keep coming to the table, we had to rest after quite a few slices but when we had rested for a while and had a drink we started again.
This shows behind the window the racks of grilled meats on the skewer, a little hard to see because the window reflects the BG, also some starters..
Lastly we enjoyed the Pineapple, straight from the grill, it was so delicious, somehow it broke down the fibres and brought out the sweetness, Steve’s mind was working overtime thinking how he could do this at home using our gadget that peels and cores pineapples, so watch this space.
You can just see the little circle on the table next to the pineapple skewer.
Lastly my drink, a Margarita, not normally a cocktail drinker but decided to push the boat out as they say, it lasted me all night and was good!
Hopefully I will have time to post next week, looking after a three year old is definitely harder than the two GSS here. We had a FaceTime with him over the weekend and he told Grandad that his car is ok but wet!! I’m thinking we will have some bad weather to contend with over there
Take care and a Happy Thanksgiving to everyone

Wow I am hungry now just looking and reading about your fabulous meal! It all sounds so delicious-thanks for sharing with us.
ReplyDeleteHave a safe trip back home hugs Kathy Happy T
Very diverse and interesting restaurant-SO much food!! As a mostly vegetarian this wouldn't be for me but I'm sure the meats were delicious and tender. Safe travels, happy T day, and happy Thanksgiving too!
ReplyDeleteIt sounds wonderful, so glad you had a lovely time. Have a safe journey home. I live in Darlington and funnily enough we last ate in a similar set up type resteraunt here in our town .... It makes me wonder if it came from over in the States as the idea is the same. Lovely idea.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had a wonderful time in San Francisco. Your food looks fantastic, as do the drinks. Have a good trip home. Hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of a place like this, but what a blast! All the variety and such different foods :) Happy T Tuesday!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous restaurant! All the food sounded so good. Except the chicken hearts. I've never had them, but just the thought. I do like the sound of grilled pineapple. Happy T Day and have a safe trip home.
ReplyDeleteThe Brazilian steakhouse looks very much like an Argentinian steakhouse. We have Argentinian steakhouses here in Mexico and we visited one in Saint Martin in the Caribbean. Way too much food, but quite an experience.
ReplyDeleteYou've had a wonderful visit to San Francisco. Our son lives in Oakland so we've been there and think it's a pretty magical place.
Happy T-day! Eileen xx
That looks a great restaurant and the food looked and sounded great, but a big no from me as well to the chicken hearts. The pineapple at the end of your meal sounded refreshing and delicious.
ReplyDeleteHappy T day wishes.
Yvonne xx
Oh, Jan what fun! The pineapple looks the best. I love fresh pineapple. I will definitely watch to see what Steve will do!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family.
Elizabeth wanted me to let everyone know that she is having computer problems and will visit when she can.
That restaurant sounds like a great place to go. The food looks delicious. Happy T-Day!
ReplyDeleteAll I can say is YUM! I am definitely a meat lover so this makes me drool.
ReplyDeleteHappy Tea Day,
Kate
Wow! I would not want to miss this. I'm so glad you shared this. How fantastic is that! I have never heard of such a thing. It all looks so yummy. This is meat eaters paradise.
ReplyDeleteHappy T-Day (belated),
Hugs,
Lisca
I hope you had a fantastic trip. It is always so sad when they end, but always good to get home too. I came down with a head cold and am a bit late visiting, but wishing you a safe trip home. And maybe you'll get to celebrate Thanksgiving too? Happy belated T day.
ReplyDeleteWhat can I say, other than I realize I’m very late visiting. That restaurant sounds SO different from any buffet I've ever visited. I was waiting to see the shrimp, which sounds so much better than the meat. This was one incredible place and I loved that you shared it with us, too.
ReplyDeleteI bet you will be glad to be back home, but that won't happen for awhile. So sad that you are leaving the states after Thanksgiving.
Thanks for sharing this unusual buffet and your margarita with us for T on Tuesday, only now it is Wednesday. And since you are still in the states, happy Thanksgiving.
