Is it really Tuesday already, the week really flies by, it’s been quite relaxed this week, an early morning walk, breakfast and shopping or collectling meds, nothing exciting really.
I have been trying to craft but since I was ill I can’t seem to get my mojo back, I’ve had the odd hour here and there. I join the challenges on Splitcoaststampers but I’m so far behind, I have about three different ones on the go, I start off well and then my idea floats away.
One of the challenges was anything faux , I’m made faux metal, this is the front of one of the photo journals, I’m making one for both sons, I’m quite pleased with it as I didn’t want anything flowery.
I rummaged through my stash looking for textured pieces to stick on it before covering with silver gaffer tape as we call it, I think it’s really called insulation tape. I had to smile as I ask my husband if he had any, he never batted an eye lid or even asked me what I needed it for, he just said he would look in his tool room, he didn't have any so he went out to buy some for me, what a star he is.
Of course since I took the photo I've added some Indigo Gilding Wax on some parts to darken it! This is the point when I usually ruin things just going one step to far, luckily this time it's OK
I’ve been making strawberry jam and lemon curd to use the fruit, I have to pick the strawberries twice a day as they ripen so fast, the tomatoes are now beginning to ripen too. We asked Alvarro who owns the cafe where we eat breakfast if he would like a bag of lemons, he said yes please so at least we can give some more away as the fridge is full!
My drink, a coffee on the beach.
First time we had been to this cafe, very slow service so wouldn't want to go when they are busy
As you can it's right on the beach
This is the view to the right of the cafe, how lovely to have a holiday home right on the beach although they have been demolishing some further along the road that sit on the beach so perhaps not!!
Well must dash as we are off to Murcia to have our finger prints taken for our new TIE card, have a Happy T Day and keep safe.
Jan x

A a coffee on the beach, what can be better! Hope you´re well again - happy T-Day.
ReplyDeleteJan you know I loved your journal cover for your son’s album. I especially love the fact you personalised it. Steve is a keeper going to buy you the tape. My DH took me to our local hardware store a couple of years ago so I could buy different tapes for my MM projects. It’s very wet and cold here and the only coffee I can get is indoors, although we did walk in the rain earlier. A coffee overlooking the beach would be nice. Happy Tuesday and hugs from Oz jx
ReplyDeleteLucky you to have the beach so near, great place to sit and drink coffee! Love your faux metal piece, really good! And how kind of your husband to get the tape for you, that's love! I had to be fingerprinted for my new identity card, too! Happy T Day, hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteYour album cover came out great, Jan - so much texture. I am behind on so many SCS challenges as well - don't stress - no rules you know - only make things if they make you happy. Great pictures of the cafes and beach - you live in a magical place. A lot of paperwork and getting paperwork though - I hope we don't move toward that. I would do it if I could live where you do though. Lovely. Happy T-day! Hugz
ReplyDeleteSorry to read you haven't been well. I hope you are better now. I love that faux metal tape cover. I've used it, too. It is called insulation tape in the states, so you were correct. Like you, I placed letters (mine were foamy) under the tape to get that raised and personalized effect. Yours turned out great.
ReplyDeleteThe coffee is pretty, but I agree that if service is slow when no one is there, it would be a nightmare if they got busy.
Living on the beach looks fun, but I can see some of the homes were older. What I loved, though, were the fabulous palm trees. I loved the beach shot for all those incredible palms. Thanks for sharing your journal cover, your beach photo with palm trees, and the restaurant you went to for coffee with us for T this Tuesday, dear Jan.
My experience with beaches in Spain was all on overbuilt areas where the natural beauty was spoiled beyond recognition. You are lucky to have such a beautiful spot to enjoy.

I love how you get to have coffee at the beach. I would love to do that as often you do. It does look pretty and nice to sit and enjoy a drink. And your art is amazing. Hope you are having a wonderful July and T day too. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteI think I'd be getting a coffee or drink with that kind of view everyday if I could. Super fab journal cover with that marvelous texture!! Hope you get your energy back soon. Take care, and happy T day!
ReplyDeleteYou had me at "a coffee on the beach". Yes, please :) What a view! Happy T Tuesday
ReplyDeleteLoving your texture piece and your hubby is a keeper, so lovely of him to get you that tape! That beach view is amazing, it would be so lovely to sit there with a cuppa - perfect 😁.
ReplyDeleteHappy T Day! Hugs, Jo x
DeleteWow I love that faux metal. Well done.
ReplyDeleteOh, Jan, I love your faux metal! And what great covers for your photo books this will make. Your sons will love it. It is definitely masculine. Yes, your hubby is a star! I had to laugh at your " my idea floats away" comment. I love the way you put it. It happens to me all the time. Smiling. Happy T Day!
ReplyDeleteYour hubby is a keeper for going out to buy you supplies for your art. Your faux metal is very cool. Strawberry jam and lemon curd sound so yummy. And lemons from your own yard. I'll skip the coffee, but ice tea with lemon on the beach sounds like a little bit of heaven. Happy T Day
ReplyDeleteFaux metal is great. I have done stuff as well with Tim Holz supplies.
ReplyDeleteI smiled at your 'gaffer tape'. Yes we call it that as well. I must say we always have a few different rolls lying about as they are handy for everything.
The cafe looks idyllic, but if the service is slow, then perhaps not.
Lucky you to have so much fruit. So good that you have been able to give things away. That is really the habit around here. We often find a bag of something hanging on our doorknob, which is an offering from one of our neighbours. Day before yesterday we got given a calabaza (giant courgette), which I cut in half lengthways and scooped out the flesh of one half. Fried that with onion, garlic and minced chicken/turkey. Then I also added sun dried tomatoes in bits, sprinkled lots of cheese over the top, and in the oven for 20 min. It was delicious!
Happy T-Day,
Hugs,
Lisca
How lovely to live so close to the beach, but sorry to hear you haven't been well, hope you feel better soon. I have also been picking so many strawberries from the garden this year, they have been growing like mad and it's very unusual. Happy T day belatedly Elle xx
ReplyDeleteI love how you go out to breakfast so often Jan. It is my favorite time to go out to eat, but I haven't done it in such a long time. And I live with a comedian too. Funny how you ran into so people. The world can be a small place sometimes, can't it? Hope you are having a nice T day. hugs-Erika
