Friday Smiles
Today marks the end of our fifth week in Lockdown, I can’t say it’s been bad as we aren’t ones to go out that much but We’re Still missing our walks, it seems that they will be extending our total lockdown until May 10th, not official yet bit it’s on the cards. It seems many of our conversations start with when the lockdown ends, we have jobs to do but we need supplies, it would be the ideal time to get all the boring jobs done, they seem to be piling up now.
I had a FaceTime call from a crafty friend in Australia, we’ve never met but chat online, we are both from the same part of the UK too so lots to chat about. It was great fun and then yesterday she had arranged a call between the other two ladies who chat together. One in Australia, I’m in Spain, and two in the USA, it was such fun but had me mesmerised as our pictures kept moving around the screen and whoever was talking zoomed to the front, quite funny
This photo cheered me up last Sunday, from our GSs.
It seems we have found a new fun way to send greetings, saves on postage!
I had another trip to the supermarket, it was pouring with rain so I had to find my boots and raincoat, thank goodness I didn’t leave them at my sons thinking we would be back, no flour, low on butter but apart from that I managed to get everything I needed to last a few weeks.
Takes such a long time as when I get back we have to take the packaging off everything and clean everywhere afterwards I always feel exhausted and pleased to be safe at home.
We should have left home last Tuesday to drive to England, we would have been arriving in the early hours of this morning, oh well maybe we will get to go later in the year.
This photo came from our DIL in the UK, our GS asked her to send this to show Grandad, it seems Grandad has become a world expert on animals since the Polar Bear story, he wanted to ask Grandad if this is a sharks tooth, he’s mad about sharks, Grandad said he thought it was a tiger shark tooth. That will make him happy.
Our GSs making cookies with their Mum, she asked the youngest why his cookies were so far apart, he said they are social distancing! LOL
At least he understands what it means!
At least today has cheered up and we have sun and cloud so the washing machine is on, I've taken my walk to the bins so now the worlds my Lobster as they say!! Have a lovely weekend ladies, keep safe and keep on crafting
Jan x

The world is my "oyster" is what we say! I found your quote by George cole? You taught me something new today ~ Your face time call sounds like it was fun. That shark tooth is huge! what an exciting find ~ Blessings
ReplyDeleteActually the quote is The worlds my oyster but the accountant where I worked always said Lobster and so it kind of stuck and I always forget and say Lobster. Have a good weekend, jan x
DeleteI've never used FaceTime but it sounds interesting. The world gets smaller every day! Fancy finding the Shark's tooth, brilliant. Take care and have a lovely weekend, Angela xXx
ReplyDeleteWe'e enjoyed lots of Facetime with our family....helps a lot but am still missing my hugs. Modern technology is certianly helping lots of us get through it all that's for sure.
ReplyDeleteThank for your lovely comments today....I made my dress and it was very much of it's time with long sleeves and high neckline....I felt like a princess in it :-)
Hugs,
Annie x
Yes Jan, this is our 5th week in lockdown, but as you say, there´s more way to get in touch with the family and friends. Great tooth.
ReplyDeleteI wish you a very nice weekend, stay safe and well, and big hugs,Caty
Yes, Facetime is great and we use i with our children. Most of our friends here in Spain have Android phones so I mostly use it with family.
ReplyDeleteI'm impressed with the shark's tooth!
You've got jobs to do and need materials. Did you know that in our province the builders merchants etc have been open again since Monday. Our builders yard has a ferreteria as well so hubby has been able to find everything he needs.
Have a lovely weekend,
Stay safe,
Hugs,
Lisca
I've also been on lockdown for about five weeks: since March 13, the last time I went to the grocery store. My friend Sally has a membership to Sam's, the WalMart of large quantities. She got me 4 buckets of cat litter. I can't believe how much these fellows have run through litter. Their equivalent of toilet paper, I suspect.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you got to "meet" Sharon. I don't have any of that technology, so I was thrilled you two got to meet that way.
Wow to that shark's tooth. What an amazing find. glad you and your husband can get the supplies you need to complete a few jobs around your house.
Have a super rest of Friday and a great weekend, dear Jan.
I think staying in our village may be giving me a false sense of security. I haven't braved the supermarkets yet as they are all a short drive away, but I think I may have to soon. I can't get salted butter, unprocessed cheese, or salad vegetables around here, and I do miss them.
ReplyDeleteI believe the construction supplies shops will be one of the first to reopen so folk will be able to get on with some of those little jobs around the house.
We haven't had enough sun to hang washing out all week, but Monday is looking hopeful!
It is good to be able to keep in touch with your family and friends worldwide. Hopefully you will be able to make that trip back to the UK soon. Kate x
