T is for Time to Stop Raining, Please!
Good Morning, hope you are keeping safe! Hope you all had a good Easter, not much happening here of course, I have only had my exciting trip to take the trash to the bins, not very exciting as I didn't see one person, which is good really but it would be nice to just see some one in a garden to wave to.
I found this photo of the cake that our eldest GS made last year for Thanksgiving when we were over, it's a pumpkin mousse, it was delicious too.
He's eleven and loves cooking, Steve has shown him how to make pancakes and omelettes and he makes pumpkin bread with me but his Mum regularly has cooking sessions with him, he made bread last week and the younger GS suggested putting chocolate in some!
Our DIL is really getting into it, she’s now bought a metal tray that you use to make baguettes and a gadget to make the slits, ha,ha, she never does anything by halves as my Mum would say
When we went to Las Vegas last November with our son, we did a road trip from San Francisco, it was a ten hours drive but we really enjoyed it, our son and Steve shared the driving, I was the drinks monitor, I loved the scenery as it reminded me of Spain when we went through the Mojave desert.
We had a visit to the Pawn Stars Shop as they both like watching the programme, I noticed these collages on the wall and thought how amazing they were, I think they were quite expensive but beautiful
My drinks related photo I took ages ago, a whole window full of funny mugs.
We are still having sun and rain ,for another week according to my resident weather man, we have been sitting in the garden when we can, listening to podcasts, Steve likes a British comedian so he went back to 2006, he’s now up to 2011, who says it's been a long time since we were allowed out!!!!it’s quite interesting listening to the topics they discuss, the SARS virus, Prince William and Catherine’s wedding, some of the topics have come quite true when you listen to them now!!
I will say goodbye for now as I'm meeting my crafty friend from Australian this morning, she is a fellow Brit who married an Australian and actually comes from my part of the UK. she is calling me on Facetime, we've never met only through the craft site so it should be fun.
Stay Safe everyone,
Happy T Day, Jan x

ReplyDeleteI shouldn't come here hungry. That Thanksgiving cake looks really GOOD. Your DIL is really getting into baking, too. How fun and she can share the experience with her son, too. Wonderful.
ReplyDeleteLovely desert photos. I remember that stretch of highway well. It's lovely, especially in spring.
Had to laugh at those mugs. They were clever with their lids, though.
Thanks for sharing your photos of food and scenery, and thanks for sharing the mugs with us for T this Tuesday, too, dear Jan. Hope you get on famously with your facetime friend today.

It's easier to stay in when the weather in unseasonably chilly and wet. All that baking would be a delightful way to spend some time :) Happy T Tuesday!
ReplyDeleteYum, those goodies look delicious. We had wild weather yesterday. Sunny and still breezy so it feels chilly today. Love the collages I bet you would see different things every time you looked. Take care and Happy T Day
ReplyDeleteHappy T day ~ enjoy your visit with your friend!
ReplyDeleteWhat fun to Facetime with a friend! I hope you both enjoyed it, seen you have never actually met.
ReplyDeleteNice collection of photos, although one of them is upsidedown I think. Those mugs are fun. I think I have seen that shop. It has a big black and white cow outside.Ale-hop I think it's called. Such fun. The kids love it.
That pumpkin mousse makes my mouth water! I will have to look away...
Happy T-Day,
Stay safe, stay healthy, stay home,
Hugs,
Lisca
Wow! What a talented GS you have. His pumpkin cake looks delicious and beautiful. I love when kids find an interest in baking at such a young age. My middle son is the same way. It is great to cultivate that interest and watch it grow. Not to mention all the yummy things we get to enjoy without having to do the work.
ReplyDeleteI have never been to Las Vegas but it is on my list of places to visit. It certainly does look like a desert.
I hope your chat with your crafty friend is enjoyable.
Happy Tea Day,
Kate
What a so so delicious pumpkin mousse Jan !! Yummy for sure. Love baking. Happy T-day ! (some rain yesterday by there, not today ) The collages are really wonderful, and these cups so funny all.
ReplyDeleteI wish you a very nice afternoon, stay safe and well,
And big hugs, Caty
Your grandson is quite talented. That Thanksgiving treat looks so delicious. It's great when kids find something that interests them other than video games. Especially making yummy food to share with their families. I hope you had a good T day and see someone to wave to soon. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteThat dessert looks amazing, your GS is very talented!
ReplyDeleteLove the photos too.
Happy T-Day!

I wish I had a boy who liked cooking... ITs such a great skill to learn. The dessert looks so good...clearly he's moved past just learning.
ReplyDeleteThe pumpkin mousse your 11-year old GS made just blew me away, Jan. When I was 11, I knew how to make sandwiches and heat up a can of soup.
ReplyDeleteI've never used Facetime. It sounds like fun except I'm camera shy.
Stay safe and stay well.
Happy T-Day! Eileen xx
I definitely think it is wonderful to teach boys to cook and bake. And it looks like your grandsons are on their way to being excellent bakers! Yummy looking things for sure. I had to smile when you said you were listening to old shows. We've been re-watching old shows on Netflix and enjoying them even the second time through. 'Death in Paradise'is a murder mystery, but funny too, and gorgeous tropical scenery. Hang in there and be safe!
ReplyDeleteI am beginning to really appreciate retirement living as we get to see and talk to folk from our balconies or walkways. All of my boys are good cooks as we spent time cooking together when they were younger, although the younger one is the really adventurous one and passes recipes on to me now! That cake looks really yummy! We have been enjoying catching up on very old Frazier episodes - some of them are very funny! Belated Happy T day! Chrisx
