T is for I forgot it was Tuesday
Happy T day, I totally forgot today was in fact Tuesday until I saw Elizabeth's post when I was drinking my coffee on the Paseo this morning.
It’s been a fairly busy week here, we seem to have been spending quite a bit, on updating the villa mainly but I’m very happy with the results, well I will be when it's all finished
I mentioned the new lights in the bedrooms, they look lovely and make the rooms look bigger now the fans aren’t hanging down, although I chose bulbs or lamps as my son tells me to call them, well he is a lighting and design Engineer so I suppose he knows what he's talking about! Anyway I decided on natural light but they give out a strange glow that I'm not sure I like but as they cost half the price of the lights I know someone will not want to buy more! Fitting was also included in the price and the man came and within twenty minutes they were all done.
Steve’s new chair looks good, although he is still going on about not having the colour he wanted. We have cream leather sofas but they are a very creamy colour, so the chairs only came in off white or dark brown, seeing as our carpet is a dark cream, brown and terracotta I thought the brown would look better, which it does, I’ve also bought two brown cushions for one of the other sofas, I’m really pleased with how it looks. I know he’s only trying to wind me up really but he is colour blind so would you let him loose with choosing!!! lOL
I made this card from some free papers I got in a craft Mag, The tiny spotted paper I already had in my stash, I thought it matched the flowers better than the turquoise stripe paper they had put in to use, the circle and the flowers were on a sheet to just push out so no cutting needed as was the silver sentiment. I used some stash to line the inside too. A quick card to put in my box for an emergency!
This is my ticket to the T party over with Elizabeth and Bleubeard, I've had these mugs for years, our DIL bought them on her first trip abroad with work, from Germany, I very rarely use them as I would be upset if I broke one, they must be about 18 years old LOL! I know, crazy but I was very touched that she bought them as she had just left Uni and didn't have much money.
This is all the way from Japan, it originally contained Tea Leaves. Our son's VP in San Francisco is Japanese and travels over there quite a bit with work and visiting family. Our son was telling her that I craft and that he saves fancy boxes and tins for me, the next day she gave him this tin to give me and also a couple of boxes but by that time my case was too full to fit them all in. I'm not sure what I will actually use it for but I can never resist a fancy box or tin!!!
The temperature has been in the 20c's so we have switched to solar water and cleaned out the log fire, next week we will order a ton of logs ready for next winter, that's what I love about Spain, winter doesn't last very long here on the south coast.
Have a great week, thanks to all my visitors last week, I hope I managed to visit everyone but it's always a challenge on my ipad but I'm back on my PC now so fingers crossed it will be easier to comment.

Glad you are getting on with your renovations, sounds like a lot of work. Those mugs are lovely, we see them a lot here in Germany! And you made a beautiful card. Hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeletealways fun refreshing a space with some new furniture and colors. Beautiful card!! Love the German mugs with lids, and that Japanese tea leaf holder is gorgeous- love their papers! Happy T day!

ReplyDeleteI bragged to Valerie how happy I was that my internet hadn’t gone out due to the storms that raged through my area off and on yesterday. Seems I spoke too soon. I finally gave up and went to sleep.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see photos of your new bedroom and other renovated spaces.
Lucky you to get that free Japanese tea tin. I paid a fortune for a similar one in Los Angeles one year. I put a flower arrangement in mine, included a small oriental fan, and glued the lid to the back of the tin. I hope you let us know what you do with yours.
That's a lovely card. It looks really complicated.
Those mugs are beautiful. I think we all have things in our possession that have as much or more sentimental valuable than monetary value. I'm sure your DIL is happy that you think so highly of them. Thanks for sharing your card, your new tin, and your beautiful tea inspired mugs with us for T this Tuesday.
Hi! were still in the planning stages of renovations and hope to finally do it this year ~ Your card turned out very pretty, and I like colors, patterns, and embellishments. I say use one mug and keep the other safe if your worried ~ Blessings & Enjoy
ReplyDeleteT Day always seems to come around so quickly! Your card is very pretty and the dotted paper coordinates beautifully. The mugs are cute and I love the lid to keep tea hot. Very pretty tin and so thoughtful of your son’s boss to gift it to you. Happy T Day
ReplyDeleteI laughed at your title, Jan - lol. It sounds like your villa update is moving right along and the results sound lovely. I tend toward neutral color furnishngs too. Then I add color on the walls and with paintings, etc.
ReplyDeleteThe card is lovely. You used those free papers well! Your mugs and tea leaf keeper are definitely keepers. I would guard them carefully too.
Happy T-day! Eileen xx
That card is beautiful. I love those mugs. That tin is fantastic looking.
ReplyDeleteWow, you have had a busy week! So glad that you have your new lighting all done 😁. Your card is beautiful, I really like the design and as I have some pretty papers I'm going to try and make a card like this for my mum - wish me luck ...lol 😉. Your mugs look amazing too and what a pretty tea canister - Happy T Day! Hugs, Jo x
ReplyDeleteWow, I sure would love to see pics of your home!!! It sounds awesome.
ReplyDeleteAnd that card is so beautiful! As the cups.
So your daughter studied in Germany? How, and... why???
The Japanese tin looks even better.
Yes. My parents in law are in Spain, too. They have a little holiday house and spend all "winters" there, clever!
A happy, warm week to you!
I understand why you want to be careful with that pair of tea cups. I love that you can steep them and then have a matching coaster :) Happy T Day!
ReplyDeleteIt is actually quite warm here too (very unusual as on the Altoplano it is always colder). And we too have not used the fire. But it will get colder again so I am not putting away the wood. We have solar hot water all winter. Although it is colder here, we always get a few hours of sun, enough usually to heat up the water for a shower. Our panel has an immersion heater inside the tank which we can switch on, but we never have to use it.
ReplyDeleteYour interior design sounds very nice. Photos?
Your card is beautiful. I like that design.
Oh what a gorgeous Japanese tin! And great mugs.
Sorry for commenting so late. I'm not up to much at the moment.
Happy belated T-Day,
Hugs (from a distance as I have a cold)
Lisca
