WOYWW 235

Cant believe its Wednesday again but not much happening here, just the finishing touches to my Special cards for family and close friends, its always a relief when I have them done.
I didn't realise that our DS2 took so much notice of my cards, although its fair to say that he always tells me that they are brilliant, what a good son he is! well last year when I gave them our Christmas card, which I was quite pleased with, he commented that it wasn't quite what I normally do them! a bit plain I think were his words, needless to say this year its been doubly hard, just hope he approves.

This morning I´ve been cutting some letters for our friend Mary who is over for a quick visit, I decided to cut them all in white so she can colour them herself to match the cards she is making.
The other bits are two gift card holders or in this case money holders for our sons and daughter-in-laws, I saw them on You tube, the baubles fit inside the square, I had a problem with the baubles as I don't have a die, instead I used a circle and a shape folded in half that looks a bit like the top of a bauble, not totally pleased with them so I might try another sort, something else to go in my Christmas drawer, along with all the Christmas cards I´ve made but don´t really like, I always mean to rework them but never actually get round to it.

That´s all I´ve  been up to, must give in now and do some ironing! See you next week, thanks for popping by.

WOYWW 234

Well, at least I´ve remembered its Wednesday this week!!
I have been busy in and out of my craft room recently, its had a revamp and I must admit that I am pretty pleased with it now its finished. After many trips to Ikea, well three but it felt like more, many struggles to get the parts up to the solarium where my room is, we even had to unload the boxes in the back of the car as they were far too heavy to manage. We had great fun putting the parts together!! I get into trouble for rushing ahead without reading the instructions from cover to cover, Steve on the other hand has to have every screw lined up and counted, we had such fun!

This is showing the bottom back corner, down the right I have three chests, the wardrobe and then on the back wall a chest and two bookcases, loads of storage so now no excuse for a mess, and at the moment I am keeping in tidy, I´m sure it wont last once the novelty wears off.

This is what´s on my desk this Wednesday, I am calling this my stamping area although technically speaking I´m not a stamper as you can see by the inks on the shelf, I don't have too many, yet!
The red box contains some of my Christmas cards that are not only finished but ready to post, all thanks to Splitcoast Stampers Christmas Card Challenge. The blue card is a pop up card and at the back I have the latest book for Joey and Charlie, this time they are helping Santa. The pages are all laminated ready and waiting,  I am just working on the front cover. The Birthday book was a huge success and thank goodness we laminated the pages as Charlie is also very taken with it apparently.

I guess that's all for now. Thanks for popping over for a visit, have a great week.   Jan

WOYWW 205

Although I still have my little album on my desk, only one page further on than last week, my excuse is the heat!
I thought this week I would show you the little book, hot off the press, that Steve has written for our Grandson´s fifth birthday,
Its about a train made in Scotland that sits on a plinth on the seafront just down the coast, Joey is mad on trains and loved the fact that he could climb all over it, that's how the idea came about, how Joey could rescue Aguilas and take him back to Sodor Island to be with Thomas and friends,  Grandad  really enjoyed himself writing it,  adding photos from their holiday, obviously the story had to match the  photos, just wish we could be over there this year to see his face when he opens it.

I used a Digi kit called Little Steamies from Sweet
 Shoppe for the front cover.

I´ve  also laminated all the pages and front and back
covers to protect it from baby brothers fingers.

Its a bit amateurish but we are quite please with it for our first attempt, apparently there is to be a Christmas Edition!!

Thanks for taking time to visit, happy WOYWW!

WOYWW 218

I cant believe how long ago I last posted, just before our Christmas trip to meet our new Grandson, since then we had their visit over here, Charlie´s Christening in a very sunny Wales!!, our son of 41 got engaged in April, all romantic in Paris and we had a lovely trip to Poland to meet our future DIL´s  family.

So on my work desk I have a mini album, I´m making it for Charlie´s first birthday,  I can hear you all crying, what already, I know I´m getting in front of myself  as its not until November but I have had so many special birthdays this year and still a few to make so I thought I would cut it out and make a start. Its multi folding album with loads of pages that fold out.

I´m not doing the months in order so this is May when they came over for a visit, I have just put bits out to see how it looks at the moment, its hard to pick the photos as I have folders full so I´m probably in danger of doing too many and too small so that may change, .I´m  also trying to use some of the vast amounts of card in my blue drawer, its on my table but that's as far as I´ve got!

Thanks for stopping by and hope to see you all next week, looking forward to seeing what everyone else is up to this week.

ABC Mnochromatic Challenge

This is a first for me joining this challenge, luckily I´d just finished this card for the Christmas card Challenge over on Splitcoasters.
The papers are from years back so I decided to give them another airing, the tree is made up from small scalloped squares, folded and layered.

WOYWW 183

Happy Wednesday everyone, afraid there´s not much happening on my work desk this week as I´ve finished my christmas cards and posted the ones off to England, not cheap I can tell you as everyone of them had to be weighed, a lengthy operation but no use getting stressed as he only has one speed, slow, as we say over here, dont visit the bank and post office in one day!! Eighteen Euros later I asked myself , as I do every year, why didn´t I make them regulation size to save on postage, trouble is I do love making square cards, anyway that was one job ticked my list of things to do. I just hope they arrive quicker than my new Grandsons birth card, it took four weeks to arrive in San Francisco, Jennie says its in pride of place and Joey was thrilled to receive a card of his own for being a  big brother.

This week on my desk are the tags I´ve been making, I keep seeing some amazing ones, and although I love making tags mine never quite look as good as the ones I keeping see on the blogs I´ve been following, anyway I thought I would have  a little go this week, I started out doing just one for Jennie, our daughter-in-law,  but then got a little carried away!
At the back of my desk you can see my die cuts etc in a plastic tub, to be used at a later date, hopefully, and my shoe box stuffed full of white off cuts, I´ve been using them to cut poinsettias out for my tags, I even made a pinky spray with mica powders and distress inks to colour them! oh and I´m still fiddling with the tattered pinecone, I love the leaves that are part of the die though, maybe next year I´ll have mastered how to make them so they actually look like a pinecone although I did make a lovely silver christmas rose out of one so not a total disaster.

Thanks for visiting my blog, and have a lovely week.

WOYWW 182

Hi Everyone, amazingly I have actually remembered it´s Wednesday in time to join in with you all,  Sad I know but the days, or should I say weeks just fly by when you are haiving fun. Not too much mess on my work desk as I have had a tidy up since finishing my christmas cards although as usual I keep remembering someone else I´ve forgotten, even though I have a list! DH says I make so many lists I need a list to keep track of them all,
You may see a card on my desk, I was blog hopping looking for inspiration and came across a card on Mary Mays the charmed life blog, anyway I used her idea and made a card for Blake, our grandsons friend who is four next month. The other bits and pieces are some I made earlier, and discarded, although they may eventually be used but for now they will squirrelled away in my box of half finished cards.
As you can see from the photo above I have finally finished my Magic Santa Keys, you may remember a while back I had cut out some silver keys  but found they were way too bendy, well I gave up on that idea and a friend found me two old fashioned keys, so here it is, I made the fob and encapsulated it, just in case its raining on christmas Eve,
Ive tried ribbons of various widths but found some too thick to push through the hole, didnt think of that beforehand but never mind, so for the moment I´m sticking with this one, the box was a designer tie box that DS1 gave me some years ago and of course I kept it, for once something Ive kept has come in useful!! I just need to find another one for Blake and Katie´s Key now.
Well that´s all Ive been up to this week,  hope those of you  in the UK are safe from the floods.
Happy Wednesday and thanks for stopping by.
